This Week's Prompt and New Threads Challenge

Hey there, my name is Brad Alston and I'm honored to be this week's featured Inktober artist! I'm a freelance illustrator living in beautiful Portland, Oregon. I grew up in upstate New York and received a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York. I did freelance illustration on the side for many years, illustrating children's books and dabbling in graphic design while I worked full-time as a traveling science teacher and wrote a science fantasy novel.
I recently quit my day job to pursue illustration full time along with seeking representation for my book. Inktober 2022 coincided with my first month as a full-time artist and the added daily challenge, and accompanying community and support, were hugely motivating and inspiring for me in that moment of change, so I'm very excited to be here sharing more with this community. Be sure to check out more of my work on the Inktober account today by clicking HERE!
Each week we have a different artist share their work. To view this week’s artist and past stories from other artists click the button below!
