This Seems Odd
Hello! My name is Amrita Sarkar and I feel privileged to have been chosen as this week's Featured Inktober Artist. I grew up in Kolkata, India, a city commonly referred to as the "city of joy" after the renowned book by Dominique Lapierre. Kolkata is a city full of character and has its own pace of life, well-known for its unbridled passion for literature, art, history, and cuisine.
I relocated to Thailand with my husband in 2010 and adore the picturesque beaches and lush greenery. As a freelancer in graphic design and creative consulting, as well as a wife, mother, and Inktober artist, I have no formal training in the field of art. Although I received a Bachelor's Degree in Arts (English Literature) and a Post-Graduate in Mass Communications and Advertising, I rediscovered my love for drawing which has been fundamental since my early childhood.
After a 19-year hiatus from sketching, I resumed this passion during the pandemic lockdown. I enjoy incorporating viewers into my storytelling and often create concepts that are seemingly unrelated objects. Inktober prompts provide the perfect challenge for me to surpass my own limitations every day. Lastly, I would like to express gratitude to my family for their unwavering support. As artists, it's important to value our unique journeys and recognize our growth along the way!
Enjoy our featured artist and friend of the week, Alessandra Spoto! Her work is featured today on our story. Her is an inspiration for us as we enjoy creating all year long! Check it out on our Instagram page today!
Each week we have a different artist share their work. These are a few of our most recent favorites!

INKTOBER52 GOES ALL YEAR LONG!
INKTOBER52 PROMPT NO.7 IS “ODD”
If you can’t even, you might be odd. This week’s prompt is as loose as a goose and up to you! Take it any odd way you’d like, just be sure it isn’t normal. Oddly enough, we’re excited to see where this leads!
