Hey there, I’m JJ, but you might know me better as @Inkshift. I’m a Dutch illustrator now living in Portland, Oregon. I used to work as an animator for Disney, Marvel, and Cartoon Network, but these days I’ve traded in my digital tools for traditional ink. Now, I spend my time creating my own stories in intricate, whimsical worlds filled with lively animals and bustling scenes—always with a touch of humor.
Right now, I’m diving into my first series of coloring books, which I love sharing with my community on TikTok. We call ourselves the Bookclub, and we’re united by our shared affection for toads. When I’m not livestreaming, drawing, or taking a stroll, I’m probably cuddling with my beautiful darling Kim, who makes her way into all of my art.
Alongside my personal projects, I take on client work and private commissions. I also have a line of limited edition enamel pins, fine art prints, and all-over-print apparel available under my brand, INKSHIFT. If you’re curious about my inky process, you can catch me on TikTok and Instagram @inkshift, and check out my merch at inkshift.com. INKTOBER52 GOES ALL YEAR LONG!

INKTOBER52 PROMPT NO.33 IS “STORMTROOPER”
Awaken the Force within your creativity as you bring these iconic soldiers to life on paper. Remember their unwavering loyalty to the Empire and the ominous presence they carry. Let your art echo their infamous words, “Move along, move along” as you channel the cold precision of the Empire's finest. Whether you're drawing a lone trooper standing guard or an entire battalion in formation, let the power of the Dark Side guide your pen. “The Force is strong with this one,” and your Inktober sketch will be too. May the ink be with you!

Not happy with your recent prompts. I think I’ll make my own list.
