Clever Girl...
Hey there! My name is Jennifer Smart and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to share my artwork with the Inktober community. By trade, I am a news documentary editor and animator. But I try to expend the rest of my creative energy drawing and imagining stories to accompany my art.
I've found my artistic niche in taking the vague ideas of mythological creatures and childhood characters and twisting them into eldritch horrors, equal parts grotesque and sublime. Lovecraftian cosmic horror, Dungeons & Dragons, and cryptozoology are the most consistent threads connecting my illustrations. Although Garfield always seems to pop back into my work every once in a while.
I currently live and work in Washington D.C., accompanied by my sister, boyfriend, his brother, and four wonderful cats that share a single brain cell.
