All The Way From France…
Jean Bastide is our featured friend of the week, and this french artist has such a way with fun little comics. His style reminds us of clasic comics like The Loony Toons and Calvin & Hobbs. The playful nature of his work had us hooked, and we are excited to share him with you!

INKTOBER52 PROMPT NO.30 IS "CELTIC"
Okay, here’s a little hisotry lesson to get you started with this prompt. The Celts were a collection of tribes with origins in central Europe that shared a similar language, religious beliefs, traditions and culture. The Celts spread throughout western Europe including Britain, Ireland, France and Spain. Their legacy remains most prominent in Ireland and Great Britain, where traces of their language and culture are still prominent today. So how will you use Celtic culture in your work this week? We can’t wait to see.

My first reaction was "wait, this drawing is Boule, from 'Boule et Bill' a famous Belgian comic from the second half of the 20th Century". But then, I looked up Jean Baptiste and learned that he has actually taken over the drawings for a revival of the comic. Nice work. (but the characters and styles are not from him, he's just the new artist of a very famous 60+ year-old character)
