A River Of Ink
Hello there! I’m Kristin Frost (@kristinjfrost) and I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to be this week’s Inktober featured artist! I’m an artist and art professor from Seattle, Washington, and my work is inspired by nature, wildlife, and the landscape. I draw and paint everything from small birds and flowers to full dreamy forest scenes. The beauty of my surroundings is ever-present in my work.
I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a child, and I grew up knowing that I would make art my career. For me, teaching and making art go hand in hand. My students inspire me every day to be creative and imaginative, and I am so lucky to have the career I have always dreamed about.
When I found Inktober in late 2020. the daily and weekly prompts inspired me to explore drawing with pen, and then later with pen and color together. Now, I primarily work with ink pens, graphite pencils, colored pencils, and watercolor. I am a detail fanatic, and I love creating light and shadow through meticulous small marks and layering values.
I am so grateful to Inktober for letting me share my work, and for inspiring me to get into drawing daily. Thanks so much for checking out my work today, and happy drawing! Check out more of my work on the Inktober account today!
INKTOBER52 GOES ALL YEAR LONG!
INKTOBER52 PROMPT NO.15 IS “RIVER”
Let your creativity flow like the currents of a mighty river as you sketch, ink, and draw your interpretation of this watery theme. Dive into the depths of your imagination and let the ink spill onto your canvas, depicting serene streams, rushing rapids, or mysterious underwater worlds. Whether you choose to capture the tranquility of a gentle stream or the power of a raging torrent, let your artistic journey navigate the twists and turns of the river's course. Let the ink flow freely, and may your creations ripple with beauty and inspiration!
